Update 12/14/04
Hi!
Nothing much new to report. We're just all stuck in a vortex of endless songwriting at the moment, in addition to each band member's
non-Robot activities that we dip into (me: recording and songwriting, Alex: screenwriting and filmmaking, Tim: remixing, DJ'ing, producing)
Anyway, It's going well. The titles alone are worth the price of admission, I think! Our record company is hearing stuff now, weighing in
on what stuff they like the most, etc. So pretty soon, the components of what will make up an album will start to coalesce. We kind of miss
playing, but we're just trying to focus strictly on the mania and madness of writing songs...we've literally written and demoed collectively
about 40 songs. But we're pretty driven, so if we feel like we should write 40 more, we certainly will. We'll be choosing a producer
very shortly as well, and will have a proper manager in early January...luckily, our amazing lawyer Francois and our A&R guy David act as our de
facto management, so it's been very much NOT urgent for us to hire somebody. The holidays are coming up...in about a week, I disappear for a
while in anticipation of the new arrival on the way to my wife Corinne and I. But when January comes around, we'll be hot and heavy with lots
of biz and hopefully a plan to start recording in earnest. Also, an LA area ultra low-key performance is something we really want to do soon, just
don't know quite when yet. My website is being built, it's justinmj.com, and I've been having fun on lots of different recording
projects recently too. One is a really cool brother-sister duo called "Judd and Maggie". They're kind of like Fleetwood Mac meets
Belle & Sebastian. VERY good. Our man Joey Waronker is producing these guys. I'm also involved in the scoring of "Devil's
Rejects", a new horror film from Rob Zombie...I'm playing bass and doing sound effect stuff. Rob is a cool dude and a lot of fun in the
studio. Also the Garbage record, which is finally done, and in my humble opinion is REALLY great. Plus those guys are the coolest homeys. There you
have it. Talk to y'all soon.
Much love,
JMJ

oh thanks for the update. i am jealous of all of you that live down in LA for this "low key" event. Ima should move alittle more north. . .
. i am thinking "washington" :D
This is the beat we live and die to.

The allusion to quirky song titles has me very excited.
We should get an Ima Robot song name generator up in here.
I also wonder if Indie 103.1 does live in-studio shows?

Thanks for updating, Justin. Have you thought of a name for the new addition to the family? My brother tried to get my parents to name me Zoey
Zanzibar. They decided to go with another name, so feel free to use Zoey Zanzibar I think he told me it was inspired by a GI Joe. Keep us updated on these "low-key performances", because us .netters can't wait to
see you guys perform again
