...or how unknown is ima robot? usually when i find an artist its easy to gather information and get the songs, even if they are fairly unknown. So whats up with ima robot, are they intentionally keep their audience small?

alex is currently working w. his side prject band edward sharpe and he magneic zeros, they are really taking off too .

They did leave virgin. There was an interview after the had left and timmy and alex had said He didn't realize how bad it was to be on a big time record label vs. doing their own stuff. Ima Robot is now on Timmy's record lable which is Werewolf Heart Records.

I personally believe that they are kind of on a hiatus because Alex is so busy with Eddie, I saw that Timmy is still doing his management business and working with other bands, and Filip just put up a new Song on his myspace. I'm not quite sure what scott is doing. The myspace says he's still in the band.

so they've been on a big time record label but still didnt get big? I dont know, like how many people do know ima robot in the states or maybe in the LA area

I think they had a decent following, but I think after waiting so long to release their 3rd album and all of the changes in the band, people just kind of gave up? I don't know..I remember seeing them at the Viper Room and there weren't that many people and then seeing them at..Shit..The Henry Ford Theater? Is that right? Aaanywho, and it was insane how many people were there and singing and going crazy..It was a fun ride..

I'd have to say LA 100x more known than on the east i've met only a couple people who have heard of Ima. (Im in Michigan)

My theroy on their new album is... when it will be released I will be happy but i stopped waiting for it. They give us a ball park release date and then that passes, they give us another idea when, then that date passes....nothing is cemented in.

it was @ the Henry Fonda theater!!! if i remember correctly that was there biggest show about 2000 peeps!!! then a year later they were playing to crowds of 200 at the roxy.

they kinda jumped the shark when Justin left the band. it got worse when Virgin collapsed and they were left without a record deal. and that second record really sucked,, with the exception of a few tracks.

with ESTMZ gaining a buzz in la, (i heard 40 day dream on KROQ local show last night) its look likes theres not gonna be am IMA show for a long time...that makes me a lil sad

Let this tour finish up (Fall/winter?) for Eddy and then im sure we'll be hearing new stuff from Ima Robot

theres was a comment that the es vids/movies are comming out for the next 9 months!!!! there wont be an ima cd of a while
