Album Sales Numbers?

Does anyone have an idea of how many copies the album has sold thus far? It would be nice to be able to track this easily.

Good day.

Actually, the odds are better with Phobiac. You need to subscribe to one of the reporting agencies, which he might be able to do via the marketing dept. of the car company which shall remain nameless.

As far as I know, you need to subscribe to Soundscan to get the most accurate data, let me see if I can find any...

I'm guessing the sales for Canada are at 0 since we still don't have any. [bitter bitter bitter]

Man, I can't believe that billboard.com is now a pay service. Anyone subscribe to billboard?

No luck with hunting down any sales number services on the web; why is that information so coveted?

drac, you should ask barz tonight at the show. I'm sure that he has an idea beyond the 3 sales that colforbin6 and I can come up with.

Someone I know in the industry who would like to be referred to as Deep Throat has given me the numbers:
2136 first week
1672 second week
3810 total.

Don't know if the copies sold at shows figure in, Soundscan is based upon bar code scans.

I don't know what to compare the data to, but it strikes me that they are still pretty underground so a gradual buildup in sales to accompany word of mouth is to be expected.

Oh yes and might I add these sales are heavily skewed to the Pacific coast, where--not coincidentally--the bulk of their touring has been.

The independent retailers are not far behind the big chains, either, when you look at how the buying is stratified.

its going to take something big to blow up the bubble. Perhaps next single, or just steady touring. thanks for looking into the figures

I think steady touring with the right band (like Hot Hot Heat and whoever the European headliner will be) is the key for any new band.

3000 only?! That seems mighty small. :( Especially considering how much radio play they seem to be getting. And wouldn't one visit on Letterman at least sell 3000 copies? They really need to release "Scream" as a single, imo...

Okay so I found out the tour manager does record CD sales at shows, so that stuff should be tracked and added to the tally.

dude! (excuse me for saying that, but it's a fitting exclaimation)...Scream is so the one! That song just kills me and surely...yeah I know what radio does to bands songs, both pro and con, but seriously, that song could fucfucfuck things right into place...clearly a personal favorite...maybe it should be exposed to millions not familiar with the
