Beck/Lips Review

Ok..So Draconian asked for it..Here it goes..First let me say that The Flaming Lips made me a big fan last night..I mean, they didn't physically make a fan for me,but you know what I mean..They came out with tons of people dressed in animal costumes and threw these huge balloons into the audience for us to bounce around..Lots of fun..Some crazy video stuff going on in the background and lots of sparkles!!
:D So then the man came out and did a few songs acoustic and then right in the middle of Golden Age, I believe, the drums kicked in and the lights behind the curtain Beck was in front of lit up and it was just awesome..:yes: So then they played some songs and had some fun..I think the highlight for me was the totally upbeat version of Lost Cause..It was so great..People were yelling out for Debra and Beck said, "Not tonight", which bummed me out, cuz what's a big show without Debra? :no: He did a lot from Sea Change and Mutations, so it's not as rocking a show as I thought it would be..He only did one song from Midnite Vultures, but he said that it had never been performed live before, and it turned out sweet!! I won't say what it is cuz I'm sure they'll do it all tour..He did all the songs that I wanted him to do from Sea Change, so I was stoked..All in all, I was hoping for a more upbeat silly show, but I will never be disappointed with him..His voice has matured so much and is just so beautiful..And it was cool hearing older stuff with a different band..They had a fairly new take on it all and it was a treat to hear it!!But, damn..I can't wait to be in the pit!!!:D:D:D

Huzzah!!

:: dreams ::

Ive heard a rumour that Beck & the Flips will be coming to the UK in the new year, but its not definite; i think it\'s a mistake. The Flips are playing small venues like uni\'s and on their website they\'ve got these dates listed under the Beck/Flips tour, but i seriously doubt that Beck would play a uni now when he could (has) fill a large venue like The Apollo.

Have you ever seen the Lips? Worth going to even without Beck, especially since they'll be able to do a full set!
