Sam Sparrow - Return To Paradise

Quote:

Sam Sparro promised fans a happy new record and that's exactly what he delivers on his new single "Happiness." The mighty funksoulpop tune is taken from Sparro's forthcoming new album "Return To Paradise" that will be released through EMI worldwide in May. "Happiness" is officially only released as a single in Australia but while driving across Amsterdam last night, I heard the track pop up in rotation on Dutch 3FM, so the enthusiasm for the record goes way beyond Aussie borders.

Marrying style with substance, the video for "Happiness" is quintessential Sparro that features his cool and collected self, and '50s style imagery that could have been taken straight from Tom Ford's perfectly-styled The Single Man. Sparro adds some colorful exuberance to the video as well when he takes viewers from the stark, black and white imagery to a totally fun and colorful show performance with the help of Harlow Gold. The L.A. burlesque dance troupe brings the song's sound and meaning perfectly to life with their sassy, synchronized dance moves.

After we heard "Shallow Ground" (Sparro's love letter to Los Angeles), this new "Happiness" is the second track to be unveiled from "Return To Paradise." Collaborators on the album include Jesse 'Golden Touch' Rogg, GRAMMY nominee Greg Kurstin, Jono Sloan (Empire of the Sun), Tim Anderson (Ima Robot) and Lester Mendez.

Players on the album include Jamiroquai founding bass player Stuart Zender, violinist Caitlin Moe, The Horn Section from Hercules and Love Affair and Midnight Magic. Sam also worked with Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentina and Florence and the Machine’s Isabella Summers
