In the spirit of Passion of Christ which I haven't seen yet, I thought there should be a thread about this dude. I'm not religious, or anything, but he's pretty famous. I mean come on he moved a lot of units(bibles :lol:

), and everyone's been waiting for his comeback tour. I heard he's actually been crashing at Frank Sinatras' old place working on some new stuff. :D

What really triggered this thought was going to see IMA ROBOT at The Troubadour last year, or the year before(damn time is screaming by , and I can't remember), but a band called Jesus Wore Dickies opened(who were totally good). There name has stuck with me this whole time, and occasionally I make variations on it.

My favorite is:
Jesus Drove a Volkswagen

Sometimes when going through West Hollywood I think:
Jesus Wore High Heels, or
Jesus wore a dress(and he did!) :lol:

I think you get the picture. Just wanted to share. Let's throw anything in here Jesus. Art, photos, thoughts, etc.

Yeah, I'm a geek. My Mom took me to see it when it came out in theaters when I was 3. Ever since then I've been hooked. I've seen the broadway version lots of times also....it's the singing and dancing that gets me every time. I find myself lost in the movie/and theater show every time I watch it..........

Anyone ever watch "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" with Peter Frampton and The BeeGee's? Eat some brownies and watch it.......you'll be singing along in no time!

i saw the passions of the christ with one of my classes (yeah, i had to pay 7 bucks, but i didn't have to take any tests that day! heh) and all i could think of afterwards was, "god, that sucked, i mean, we all knew he was going to die in the end..."
i think that was my anti-religious side coming out, but i still made everyone laugh...

I love the darkness and energy from that movie/ and theater production.....superb!

Now I want to go watch the movie! See what you did....I love the beginning when they all get off the bus (in the movie) and do the tribal dance with Jesus...then he slowly walks away.....The music is soooo intense, I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!

I've become a raging atheist over the past few years. I recently devoured "Atheism: The Case Against God" and highly recommend it to anyone considering reason as an alternative to dubious mythology.

Oh, and Mel Gibson is a fucking nutcase homophobe asshole and I fully endorse the piracy and distribution of Lethal Weapon Jesus (I'm getting too old for this crucifixion!) and any other such acts of subversion that might prevent any future Godspolitation movies.

I'm not religious either, I like to say more spiritual than anything. But I am fascinated with various beliefs and find myself reading about them or watching shows on TV about them. It's all very interesting.....let us know what she thinks of the movie---heard it's gruesome, but the way they filmed it with the cool blue color tint, it looks amazing from an artistic stand point..... :yes:

I just got done watching Joe Dirt! Comedy channel had some goodies on today---earlier was Revenge of the Nerds. I love when the little asian guy is riding his tricycle in the race! And Lamar Latrel throwing the javelin (?)...oh my what a great movie.... :lol:

I just saw the movie yesterday. I noticed a few people crying, It was pretty graphic.
